FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q.1 .What are courses available at JIMMC, Kanpur?
A. One year PG Diploma courses in Digital Media, TV Journalism, Print Journalism, Advertising and Public Relation for 10+2 passout students and Three Year Diploma in Mass Communication in coordination with BA from Jagran college of Arts, Science & Commerce.

Q.2. Why JIMMC, Kanpur?
A. JIMMC helps to look forward and discover yourself to pursue your passion for Media. And the mantra is , “believe in yourself and the world will believe in you.”

Q.3 What is the duration of PG & UG courses?
A. Approximately 10 months in an academic year followed by one month internship at the end of final semester.

Q.4. What are the timings of the Institute?
A. 10.00 am to 5.00 pm, six days a week for PG Programmes five days a week for undergraduate course. (MCAJ).

Q.5. What is the teaching methodology?
A. Practical skills along with strong theoretical study base.

Q.6. Do you train in Information Technology required for Media applications?
A. Yes. We have the state of the art Media Lab.

Q. 7. What are career opportunities?
A. We groom students for entry level positions in the Media industry. They can make career as Reporter, Sub-Editor, Feature Writer, Content Developer, Assistant Producer, Script Writer, Anchor, PR Executive, Copy Writer , Media Planner & Client Servicing Executive in Media organizations.

Q.8. Is Hostel Facility available?
A. We don't have hostel facility right now, but PG's or Rooms are available in nearby areas of our Campus.

Q.9. Can the fee be deposited in installments?
A. Yes. 3 installments for PG courses, and six installments for UG course.

Q.10. What is the admission process?
A. Through Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Q.11. What are expectations from students?
A minimum of 85% attendance in all classes and timely submission of assignments & projects. Organizing and participation in extra -curricular activities  is must.

Students are also required to read Hindi & English news papers, magazines and watch news channels regularly for content analysis of news, events and advertisements. Regular practice on computer is also essential.
